| Flowed turbine housings for low and high rpm boost control to match your engine for maximum air control. Waste gated and non waste gated housings are available to match your high horsepower engine. The stock turbocharger exhaust housing on the 94-98 12 valve engine is a 12 cubic centimeter that performs well on engines that are developing up to 250 hp. Once you are above this rating, the exhaust flow is so high that the stock housing offers a high drive pressure that prevents the boost pressure from entering the combustion chamber. We have a 14 cubic center meter waistegated housing that will handle this extra 250 hp + exhaust volume and reduce the amount of drive pressure required to turn the turbine wheel. In the 1989/90 5.9 6BTA Cummins a 18 cubic centimeter housing is a little to large and the turbo lag can be eliminated with a 16 cubic center housing. The 91-93 engines have a 20 square center housing and turbo lag is quite obvious. By installing the non-waste gated 16 square centimeter housing, higher boost pressure and our larger injectors can pump the engine up to a 210 hp engine with 22 pounds of boost pressure. |

The turbine housing, compressor housing and wheels are very unique in there design. The result is low exhaust temperature and a broad responsive range of air flow. We have as well designed a twin compounded turbo kit for 150-300 hp modifications. These turbochargers can reduce smoke emissions, cool exhaust temperatures and deliver more air at lower boost pressures on modified engines like no other turbo kit on the market. |

Turbocharger lag is usually the result of an improperly matched turbocharger. As the compressor wheel size is increased to meet the airflow requirements of the engine, it gets heavier, which hurts response time. BD's turbo systems, using Borg Warners unique Extended Tip compressor wheel technology and low inertia, full-floating journal bearings, outperforms ball bearing turbochargers of a similar size.
Our unique dual-volute turbine housing picks up low rpm exhaust pulses for improved turbine response, while the dual-action waste gate bleeds off turbine drive pressure from both volutes. BD's turbo systems also feature a heavy-duty waste gate actuator that prevents pre-mature opening caused by high exhaust pressure. You can even fine-tune your BD/AirWerks turbo for ambient temperature and barametric pressure changes using BD's adjustable waste gate control.
Put simply, you'll get more power, quicker response, cooler EGT's and lower exhaust emissions with a BD/AirWerks turbocharger! And, you'll have the added benefit of proven journal bearing technology--the very same used in 99% of the turbochargers produced in the world since 1921.
SINGLE TURBO SYSTEMS
All of BD's single turbo systems are designed for easy, bolt-on replacement. This is a complete kit, not just a turbo but all the parts needed for installation. It has BD's adjustable waste gate, down pipe and for some applications an exhaust adpater is included for stock exhaust mounting. If you want the turbo seperately, just ask for it.
Super B Special: The Super B Special bridges the performance gap between the Super B turbo and the Super B twin system. Flowing an amazing 80 lbs. of air per minute (compared to 61 lbs./minute for the Super B), the Super B Special is perfect for late-model Cummins common-rail or modified 12-valve engines and can deliver enough air for 550-625 rear wheel horsepower on diesel only. A bolt-in replacement for the stock turbo, the Super B Special kit includes all necessary adapters, new down pipe, spring-loaded T-bar clamps and turbo feed/drain fittings. kits1994-1999 stock engines have the 12 sq cm w/g hsg that can be quite restrictive when the power is increased above 300 flywheel HP and results in high exhaust temperature. |

BD`s Super B Twin turbo kits are designed for Dodge Rams with the Cummins Diesel engine and modifications that with the right amount of fuel and air, they will develop 350-500 rear wheel Horsepower.
This engineered two stage compounded set of Air Werks S300 turbochargers meets the engine’s air requirements and keeps exhaust emissions to a minimum and exhaust temperatures low. The turbo boost developed by the high pressure turbo provides quick, low engine rpm response. This air charge is compounded by the low pressure turbo which has a broad compressor map for the high engine rpm. The high pressure turbo is the same one we use in the Super B single kit so you can progress from the single turbo to the twins as your desire for more power develops.
Tests show that at 450 rear wheel horsepower, pre-turbo exhaust temperatures of 1175 F were experienced and 51 pounds of turbo boost was developed on a 2002 ISB Cummins with the exhaust smoke level of only 3 out of 10. O-ringing of the head is not a requirement at this pressure.
Even higher horse power gains and turbo boost pressures can be achieved when the twins are installed in conjunction with nitrous to overcome the inefficiencies of the stock intercooler.
The kit is complete with a SS X Intake, exhaust and intake piping, oil drains, heat shields and the 2003-2005 application even comes with a 3-piece pulse exhaust manifold to bolt on.

What good is all of this new power if you can't monitor it? Enter BD Diesel's X-Monitors. Their readout mounts inside a nice module that is positioned on the driver side A-pillar or dash. All three functions are seen at the same time--transmission temperature, exhaust temperature and turbo boost pressure. All three have limits, and these numbers are downloaded into the X-Monitors. When any are met or exceeded, the monitors' faces flash a warning that can't be missed!

| €śElectronic€ť in this case, refers to simply connecting to the engine heat riser valve:s control wire and signaling to close the valve. A delay of 2-3 seconds occurs before the valve closes and exhaust backpressure builds to retard the engine revolutions vehicle speed. Automatic transmission equipped trucks have this function combined with the BD AutoLoc or TorqLoc computer. These trucks only require a basic wiring harness. A stock automatic equipped Ford truck, prior to 1999, will disengage the convertor clutch when the accelerator pedal returns to idle, the brake pedal is touched or when the truck accelerates. Since 1999, the convertor clutch will remain engaged until the brake pedal is touched. When the convertor clutch is not engaged the engine free wheels and the engine rpm falls to idle with no transfer of retarding horsepower being achieved. BD:s BrakeLoc computer is designed to close the heat riser valve on the Ford Powerstroke and will maintain convertor lock up until a pre-selected vehicle speed. The BrakeLoc improves retarding horsepower from 5 RHP, when the clutch is not engaged, to 200RHP when engaged. BD advises the driver that this €śelectronic€ť brake results in a extreme amount of delay or distance before retarding occurs; the amount of retarding force is 30% less than vacuum engaged BD vacuum engaged brake and 10% of the stock Ford heat riser valves that stick or bind. BD recommends, for instant and superior retarding performance, the BD Vacuum Actuated, with a variable orifice butterfly exhaust brake kit, be installed. It does cost more because of the design and kit content but it is an engineered safer retarding device. |

TorqLoc: Torque converters in the newer trucks have 2 stages: (1) a fluid coupling occurs first when you are starting, accelerating or pulling up a big hill, (2) when you are cruising at a constant speed the lock up portion of the converter is engaged and 100% of each rpm is transferred through the converter, just like a standard clutch. With the TorqLoc toggle switch in the first position the lock up clutch is engaged and 100% of the rpm is transferred, transmission temperatures remain low and engine retarders work at 100%. This position is manual and should only be used manually just like a gear would be selected. Factory convertor (and aftermarket) clutch and drive clutch designs have torque limitations and this function should only be used under light load and light power conditions. A adjustable pressure switch is available to disengage the lock up clutch once a set boost pressure or load has been achieved. The second position converts the application back to stock operation or it can be wired to unloc the convertor. The third position is an AutoLoc position that only maintains a lock up when the stock computer has already established a circuit. This position can be safely selected for retarding or under heavy power and load applications. This position can be selected for every day driving in all situations. The TorqLoc also has an overdrive inverter option to have the transmission start in drive. The lock up can be set to hold on untill 5-10 MPH if you have 2nd gear lock up for slow driving condidtions. |
